Tool guide
Generate and compare Bcrypt hashes
Generate a Bcrypt hash with a cost parameter, or compare plaintext with an existing hash.
How to use
- Start with a test string and the default cost.
- Enter the hash and plaintext in the comparison area.
Example and expected result
Example workflow: mock password → cost 10 → copy hash → compare the same mock password and hash.
Random salts make generated hashes differ.Capabilities and limits
- Higher costs take longer and current computation can block the page.
- This is not a decryption tool; check Bcrypt byte-length limits for long input.
Troubleshooting
Different hashes for the same plaintext are expected with random salts. Use comparison and preserve the complete hash prefix.
Data processing and storage
Plaintext and hashes are processed in page state without automatic saving. Use mock passwords to test integrations.
