Tool guide
Convert files to and from Base64
Read a local file as Base64/Data URL, or restore encoded bytes into a downloadable file.
How to use
- Choose a file and copy plain Base64 or its Data URL.
- For decoding, check the MIME type and extension before downloading.
Example and expected result
Text file content: hello
Base64: aGVsbG8=
Data URL: data:text/plain;base64,aGVsbG8=Capabilities and limits
- Encoding increases size, and large files need extra memory.
- Successful decoding does not prove file safety; MIME types and extensions are not content verification.
Troubleshooting
Check prefixes, completeness and extensions if a file will not open. Use the text Base64 tool for text-only conversion.
Data processing and storage
Files are read and restored in the browser without automatic input saving. Your device manages downloaded files.
